Describe the place from somewhere protected
A view through a window or from a distant position may be enough to explain the concern. Say which doorway, garage edge, or covered area is involved and whether people can avoid it. Do not stand beneath the activity, knock on the surface, or climb a ladder for a better photograph. Keep pets and children away from the flight path while the nest question is being discussed.
Not every flying insect means the same thing
An insect visiting flowers may be gathering food far from its nest. Repeated entry into one opening is a different observation. Explain whether a nest is visible or concealed, and leave identification open until suitable evidence is available. Bees, wasps, and other visitors should not all be treated as the same issue. Avoid sealing an active-looking entrance into a wall before the structure has been assessed.
Arrange access and expectations together
Mention a locked gate, stored equipment, overhead obstacles, or a surface that cannot be reached from the ground. Ask what work is proposed, whether accessible nest removal is included, and when the household can use the affected route again. Clarify what further activity should be reported afterward. The plan should address the observed location rather than promise that no flying insect will return to the yard.
